Joseph Addai Injury: Why Fantasy Football Owners Need to Add Delone Carter
Indianapolis Colts running back Joseph Addai left Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a right hamstring injury and is unlikely to return, according to Rotoworld. In his place the Colts have handed running duties over to rookie Delone Carter, and if you want a boom-or-bust running back option on your fantasy team's bench, it might be wise to give Carter a look.
Addai had 19 yards on six carries and a six-yard reception before heading to the locker room with a brace on his right leg. He was visibly frustrated, and if it is a hamstring injury (as is being reported by Rotoworld), Carter could be getting an extended look in Indianapolis' backfield.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Through four games this season, Carter has 29 carries for 103 yards and no touchdowns. But the Colts have really liked what he's done. Sure he only has a 3.6 yards-per-carry average, but the Colts apparently have tons of faith in the kid
In the team's Week 2 loss to the Cleveland Browns, Carter rushed 11 times for 46 yards and looked good doing it. That said, with a terrible offensive line and an offense that has struggled moving the ball all season, the Syracuse product is really only a candidate for your bench right now.
But with the Colts moving the ball through the air during today's matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs, teams may begin to respect their passing game again. In theory, that should open up opportunities for the running game.
Carter is certainly not yet a starter in any fantasy league, but with a few weeks under his belt, he could be a good option if one of your running backs has a bye week.
Again, picking him up would be a boom-or-bust thing. He could totally disintegrate as a starter, but he could also take the starting job away from Addai while the veteran recovers. Carter certainly has the ability to do just that, and if you have a need for running back depth, you may regret missing out on him.
