The San Diego Chargers and QB Philip Rivers travel to Invesco Field for a heated AFC West showdown with the Denver Broncos.

The Chargers (3-1) actually won games in September, which is something they have historically failed at during Norv Turner’s tenure as head coach.

Denver’s season, on the other hand, has featured little success. The (1-3) Broncos have struggled with consistency on offense, and the defense gives up yards at will, especially through the air.

Will QB Tim Tebow see some time behind center? The Broncos have nothing to lose, and head coach John Fox should roll with his young quarterback. There is no future for Kyle Orton in Denver.

San Diego will likely look to the air early and often to exploit the Broncos’ awful secondary. Denver’s defensive backs are old and slow, and the Chargers’ receivers should be able to beat them for big plays. If they can establish a strong run game to achieve balance on offense, they will be tough to beat today.

Denver needs to run the football and keep Rivers off the field. The interior of the Chargers defensive front is suspect and can be penetrated by strong, physical running backs.
