Dana White: "I'd Be Pretty Stupid If I Don't Make Silva-Sonnen Fight"

The line of trash talking is apparently invisible to Chael Sonnen and UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva isn't happy.

"Those guys don't like each other. I don't know if Chael really hates Anderson as bad, but Anderson, I don't know if any of you saw his face when [Chael won]. He wasn't doing the whole joking around thing. He was pissed," UFC President Dana White told MMAWeekly.

"He's really upset about the smacking his wife on the butt thing. He's really pissed about it."

White is referring to Sonnen's remarks in an appearance on "The MMA Show" with Mauro Ranallo.

"You tell Anderson Silva I'm coming over and I'm kicking down his backdoor and patting his little lady on the ass and I'm telling her to make me a steak, medium rare, just how I like it," said Sonnen.

The trash talk didn't end there. After submitting Brian Stann at UFC 136, Sonnen took to the mic once again to deliver more verbal jabs at the proposed pound-for-pound king.

"Anderson Silva, you absolutely suck," taunted Sonnen. "Super Bowl weekend...the biggest rematch in the history of the sport. I'm calling you out, Silva. It's time to up the stakes. I beat you, you leave the division. I lose, I will leave the UFC forever."

Sonnen came close to dethroning Silva at UFC 117, but late fight heroics and a Round 5 triangle choke ensured the safety of "The Spider's" pound-for-pound legacy.

With so much personal animosity and anticipation building around a possible rematch, White seems to be leading towards Sonnen as the next No. 1 contender.

"Probably, yeah," Dana responded when asked if he was making the Silva versus Sonnen rematch. "More than likely, yes I'm doing it. I don't like to commit to anything the night of the fights, but yeah, I think it would be pretty (expletive) stupid if I don't make that fight."

Stylistically, Sonnen is the most difficult matchup for Silva in the middleweight division. With that said, fans can expect to see an invigorated Silva on fight night.

Sonnen shouldn't expect anything less, after bringing a man's family into the situation.
