Dear Coach Fickell: It's Time to Try Graham and Guiton (An Open Letter)

Dear Coach Fickell,

Days after you were first hired, I wrote you a letter, begging you not to break my heart. I was already a scorned woman after Terrelle Pryor left, and again when I had to put my beloved sweater vest in the back of the closet.

So now, here I sit. Nine hours after our devastating loss to Nebraska, and I can't but wonder: "Where do we go from here?"

Quarterback Braxton Miller did everything he was supposed to do. He rushed for 95 yards. He was 5-for-8 with a touchdown. Even after he sprained his right ankle, he was seen trying to work through the pain.

Now, I'm trying to work through my own pain.

I, along with thousands of fans, watched in horror as Joe Bauserman went 1-for-10.

I, along with thousands of fans, watched in horror as Nebraska scored 28 unanswered points.

I, along with thousands of fans, watched in horror as Bauserman threw an interception with five minutes left in the game.

Coach Fickell, I've got two words for you:

Graham and Guiton.

Taylor Graham and Ken Guiton don't have a lot of experience; heck, they don't really have any. But if Miller is out next week against No. 19 Illinois, then we have to change the offense. The players aren't behind the haphazard signal calling. Safety Christian Bryant even told reporters last week, "The offense is on scholarship, too."

Coach Fickell, we have to try something new.

After all, what is there left to lose?
