NFL Predictions Week 5: Frank Caliendo's Picks on FOX and 3 of My Picks

Jonathan MaurerOct 8, 2011

For those of you who want to go against Frank Caliendo, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Michael Strahan and Jimmy Johnson, just go to http://msn.foxsports.com/fantasy/football and play Frank's picks. Also, make sure to tune in and watch the FOX NFL Sunday Pregame show that starts at 12 p.m. ET.

In Week 4, I picked the Lions to beat the Cowboys, Steelers to beat the Texans, Bills to beat the Bengals and the Titans to beat the Browns.

I was 2-2.

I thought for sure that I was going to go 1-3 after the Lions were being blown out by halftime.  But the Lions came back, and I went 2-2. I didn't believe the Texans were good enough to beat the Steelers, and I was wrong.

I would talk about how much the Bills let down me and 90 percent of the fans that picked them, but I have to give credit to the Bengals, they were able to get there running game going, while getting the best out of their rookie quarterback.

The Titans are a really good football team, and Matt Hasselbeck might be in that MVP discussion. The Browns are a young team that will get better, but there wasn't anyway in the world that I wasn't picking the Titans to win.

And now for this week's picks.

Eagles vs. Bills

The Eagles are coming off loss to the rival Giants, while the Bills are coming off a loss to the Bengals.  Fans in Philly are panicking, and the fans in Buffalo are probably expecting the same old Bills that they have seen for the past couple of years.

The Bills are actually underdogs in this one. The Eagles are 1-3, while the Bills are 3-1 and at home.

My Pick: Bills

Buccaneers vs. 49ers

The Buccaneers and 49ers are both 3-1. I don't believe anybody saw the 49ers being 3-1 at this point of the season.  The 49ers are winning with Frank Gore, a re-invented Alex Smith and an aggressive defense.  The Buccaneers are like they were last year, they start off slow, but eventually they get the job done.

I think that the team that jumps out ahead early will win the game, and the Bucs have a hard time of getting into the game early.

My Pick: 49ers

Cardinals vs. Vikings

I don't think people knew that there was going to be a Kevin Kolb vs. Donovan McNabb matchup, but I think that everybody else would be thinking that one quarterback would be playing for the Eagles and the other would be playing for the Redskins.

I think this will be a shootout, and the team with the best wide receiver will win.

My Pick: Larry Fitzgerald and the Cardinals

My Upset Pick: Raiders over the Texans
