UFC 136 Results: Will Chael Sonnen Anderson Silva II Live Up to the Hype?

Dwight WakabayashiOct 8, 2011

"I beat you, you will leave the division, You beat me, I will leave the UFC forever."

Chael Sonnen has set up in his own words, "the biggest rematch in UFC history," coming soon by thoroughly and masterfully outclassing Brian Stann in their fight tonight.

The way that Chael fought Silva last fight, combined with his destruction of Stann and what he has put out on the line, this just may be the biggest and baddest hyped rematch of all time. Say what you will Anderson Silva, but every hero needs a nemesis, and Chael is setting this up to make retirement type money for both of them.

Chael had nothing to say about his destruction of Stann, and he certainly didn't have to, he said it all in the fight, but I can guarantee his mouth will soon be working overtime, busting up Anderson before they even sign the fight.

It has been said that if Dan Henderson gets a win in his next big fight against Mauricio Rua, that he may be in the mix to face Silva as well, but i don't see any way that the UFC can deny Silva-Sonnen II.

I believe that the fans do truly believe that "Uncle Chael" really is the only one who can really threaten Silva and his reign. There are also many who want to Silva get knocked around again, remember his hint at an injury after  his first title with Sonnen.

Regardless of motive, Sonnen vs Silva is set to be one of the biggest and best rematches of all time, and it most certainly will live up to the hype.
