Takedown after takedown, Sonnen controlled the fight, landing vicious elbows and strikes to the head and midsection of Stann.

With time ticking away in the second round, Sonnen connected on an Arm Triangle that would lead to a Stann tap out.

With a victory, Sonnen now moves closer to his much-desired title shot against Silva, potentially at Super Bowl weekend.

Sonnen shocked the world when he dominated Silva round after round in a five-round title fight.

Takedown after takedown, Sonnen pounded away on the world's greatest fighter.

After winning the first four rounds, Sonnen and Silva headed to the fifth and final round.

Sonnen continued his dominance as he took "The Spider" to the ground, landing strikes to nearly every part of Silva's body.

With just minutes remaining before declaring Sonnen the new Middleweight champion, Silva connected on a Triangle Armbar.

Sonnen attempted to escape, but it was too late.

Despite remaining the 185-pound champion, It was the first time in Silva's career that he was exposed.

Now, with a win over Stann, Sonnen will once again get to circle the Octagon with the man he greatly despises in Silva.

But, fans across the globe begin to wonder, is Sonnen a choke artist?

The real question is, can Chael Sonnen last five rounds with the greatest mixed martial artist to have ever walked the face of the earth in Anderson Silva?
