UFC 136 Results: 3 Fights to Get Kenny Florian Back on Track

G DOct 8, 2011

Kenny Florian's dream came true as he found himself in a Featherweight title shot against the 145-pound world champion, Jose Aldo.

The only problem for Florian, he came up short once again, losing by unanimous decision at the end of the fifth round.

Despite the loss, Florian remains one of the best fighters in the Featherweight division.

The following slides display three fights to get Kenny Florian back on track.

Let's take a look.

Mark Hominick

1 of 3

Mark Hominick, also one of the better mixed martial artists in the Featherweight division, stood toe-to-toe with current champion Jose Aldo in a five-round title fight at UFC 129.

Despite coming up short, Hominick showed he was able to land affective strikes to the chin and body of Aldo.

While Hominick is expected to take on Chan Sung Jung at UFC 140, a match against Florian would make perfect sense.

Erik Koch

2 of 3

Erik Koch is currently one of the best "not-talked" about fighters in the UFC today.

Posting a career record of 13-1, Koch's only loss came at the hands of Chad Mendes at WEC 47.

Since then, Koch has won four consecutive fights on a fast track to the top of the Featherweight division.

A bout against Koch would be a perfect "back-on-track" fight for Florian

Tyson Griffin

3 of 3

Tyson Griffin, who at one point was considered of the best lower-weight fighters in the UFC, fell off the map after losing three consecutive fights.

After a loss to Nik Lentz at UFC 123, Griffin dropped to the Featherweight division and defeated Manvel Gamburyan in his debut.

If Griffin can defeat Bart Palaszewski at UFC 137, he could find himself in the Octagon against Kenny Florian.
