NFL Picks Week 5: 3 Teams That Will Win by Multiple Touchdowns

Tim KeeneyOct 8, 2011

There are a lot of close lines for NFL Week 5 action, but that doesn't mean some games will turn ugly. Here's a quick look at three teams that are primed to blow out their unfortunate opponents.

New York Giants

The Seattle Seahawks are nowhere near the same team on the road as they are at home, so ignore that close game they played against Atlanta last week. All right—you don't have to ignore it, but don't expect similar results.

Even without Justin Tuck, the Giants have gotten good pressure on opposing quarterbacks this year, and that should absolutely continue against a weak Seattle offensive line. Tarvaris Jackson won't have much time to throw the ball, and that means very little scoring for the 'Hawks.

You know when there will be lots of scoring? When New York is on offense. Hakeem Nicks, Mario Manningham and now Victor Cruz give Eli Manning three dangerous weapons on offense. There's no way a banged up Seattle secondary will be able to slow down this offense.

New England Patriots

The New York Jets have Darrelle Revis. Darrelle Revis is really good at cornerback. However, popular to contrary belief, he can only contain one of New England's weapons.

That weapon will likely be Wes Welker for most of the game.

However, that leaves Tom Brady with guys like Deion Branch, Aaron Hernandez, Rob Gronkowski and even Chad Ochocinco. The Jets have a good defense, but it won't be able to slow down Brady and Co.

On the other side of the ball, the Jets just don't have enough firepower to take advantage of New England's disappointing defense that even lost Jerod Mayo to injury.

The Jets just won't be able to keep up as the Patriots score at least 30.

Detroit Lions

The Lions have been really impressive, but did you know three of their four wins have already come on the road?

Now that's impressive. During their one home game this year, they only won by 45 points. Sure, it was against Kansas City, but 45 points.

The Chicago Bears get the unfortunate duty of being the next team to come in to Ford Field. The Bears have been highly inconsistent this year, but don't expect them to get on track against a Lions team that is absolutely rolling right now.
