NFL Picks Week 5: 3 Teams That Will Continue to "Suck for Luck"

Michael MillOct 8, 2011

The "Suck for Luck" campaign has been an amusing way for fan bases to stay exciting about the season despite the lack of success from their teams.

Every week, fans of particular teams are pained by watching their beloved teams crumble to defeat time and time again.

Then, after the pain subsides, they remember they are one step closer to getting Andrew Luck in the offseason.

Hopefully, Luck can live up to the hype.

Here are three teams in the thick of the battle for Luck who will continue to suck this weekend.

Indianapolis Colts

How frustrating would this be?

The Colts are unstoppable for years all thanks to one player: Peyton Manning.

Manning gets injured for the first time in his career and as a result Indianapolis gets the next Manning in Andrew Luck.

We would have to change the campaign to "Lucky to Suck for Luck."

This weekend, the Colts play the Chiefs in a game with extreme implications in the Luck campaign.

Kansas City has shown sparks of life the last few weeks. The Colts just suck without Manning.

Minnesota Vikings

I honestly don't understand why the Vikings are looking so terrible this year.

At 0-4, they are tied for first in the "Suck for Luck" campaign. What's weird is they could just as easily be 4-0 right now.

Not to mention they drafted Christian Ponder in this year's draft.

As soon as Ponder takes the field, the Vikings may pick up a couple of wins here and there taking them out of the race.

Until then the Vikings will continue to lose, even against the Cardinals.

Seattle Seahawks

Everyone is talking about the Colts and the Dolphins being the early favorites in the race for Luck.

My favorite is still the Seattle Seahawks.

Miami fans are complaining about Chad Henne. They should be thankful that they aren't stuck with Tarvaris Jackson.

Seattle is at 1-3 and will be 1-4 after getting stomped by the Giants this weekend.

Wouldn't it be awesome if Seattle won this campaign? Think about it. Pete Carroll baffled the world with his draft strategy last year.

With the first pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select... quarterback... Matt Barkley!

That Pete Carroll is a trickster.
