NFL Picks Week 5: Eagles-Bills and 3 Locks to Take to the Bank

Tim KeeneyOct 8, 2011

For those of you who enjoy an NFL bet or fifty every Sunday, here's a look at who you should be putting your money on for Week 5's action.

Buffalo Bills (+3) vs Philadelphia Eagles

Wait a minute. So the 3-1 Bills are getting three points at home against the 1-3 Eagles? Yeah, I'm OK with that.

The Eagles offense has looked less than dreamy as that offensive line can't protect Mike Vick, their run defense couldn't even stop Frank Gore last week and even their pass defense has been less than stellar.

Forget about the Bills' slip-up at Cincinnati in Week 4. They were coming off an emotional win and didn't have their heads in the game.

They are back at home where they knocked off the Patriots, so taking on the Dream Team should be a doable task.

The nightmare continues for Philly.

New York Giants (-10) vs Seattle Seahawks

Tarvaris Jackson and the Seahawks actually looked capable of moving the ball last week against the Falcons, but now they have to go back on the road.

The main reasons they were able to stay with Atlanta are A) Seattle has the best home-field advantage in the NFL and B) the anemic Falcons D-line couldn't get past the anemic Seattle offensive line.

Well the Giants, even without Justin Tuck, are fifth in the NFL with 12 sacks and should get at least half that number against Seattle on Sunday.

Throw in the fact that Seattle's secondary is dinged up and Eli Manning will lead the G-Men to at least a two-touchdown win.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+3) at San Francisco 49ers

I see a letdown game coming from the Niners after their Week 4 upset at Philadelphia.

San Fran has a very good defense, but Josh Freeman and the Bucs have the type of offense that is comfortable in a slow-it-down, grind-it-out type of game.

Besides their Week 1 drubbing of Seattle, San Francisco's two wins have come by a combined six points. They just don't have the type of team to blow teams out.

With that being said, I don't even think the Niners will win this one. Tampa Bay is too efficient and too good in the fourth quarter to lose this defensive battle.
