Week 5 Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: 3 WRs Set for Huge Games

Michael MillOct 8, 2011

In the fantasy football world, it's easy to get wrapped up in the running back and quarterback position.

However, it's actually wide receiver where you have the most starters playing each week.

They may not be the biggest point producers on the team, but they are the most prominent position on the team.

Julio Jones (Atlanta Falcons)

The Atlanta Falcons have been a run-heavy team up until this season.

This year, the team has focused much more on throwing the ball, and have abandoned the run over the first few weeks of the season.

This means many more throws in Julio Jones' direction.

Last week, Jones was targeted 17 times. This week, he goes against a Packers defense that has struggled against the pass.

Calvin Johnson (Detroit Lions)

It doesn't matter what a defense does to game plan for Calvin Johnson.

Simply put, he can't be stopped.

Double-cover him, even triple-cover him and he still finds a way to come down with the ball for big plays.

His eight touchdowns leads the NFL for receivers.

Two more and another 100 yards isn't out of the question against a struggling Bears secondary this Monday.

Steve Smith (Carolina Panthers)

Cam Newton has outperformed all expectations over the first four weeks of the season.

On the receiving end of those expectations is Steve Smith.

Smith has had three games with at least 150 receiving yards. His one without was in part due to the monsoon that the team was playing through.

No monsoon this weekend and a shootout expected against the New Orleans Saints.

Smith should have a huge showing.
