NFL Picks Week 5: Both Undefeated Teams Will Continue Streak This Week

Michael MillOct 7, 2011

After four weeks into the 2011 NFL season there are now only two remaining undefeated teams in the league.

It will be impossible for both to remain unbeaten for the entire regular season because they accompany one another in the same division.

However, that won't come this week.

The defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers have come out of the gate as a force to be reckoned with.

New Orleans, Carolina, Chicago and Denver have proved to be no match for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.

The offense has put up a league-high 37.0 points per game. Defensively Green Bay has faced their share of issues, but there is still no team that can keep up with the offense.

This weekend the Packers take on the Atlanta Falcons.

The Falcons have looked absolutely terrible so far this year. Sitting at 2-2 they are underachieving after high expectations for the season.

They beat an overrated Philadelphia team, but only did so after the absence of Mike Vick. They also barely edged out an awful Seahawks team.

The Packers will have no problems this weekend.

The other undefeated team will face a struggle, but they faced one last week as well.

Just a few years after posting an 0-16 season the Detroit Lions are sitting pretty at 4-0.

The offense is putting up 33.8 points per game, second to only the Packers, and a defense allowing an eighth-best 19.0 points per game.

Last week the Lions trailed 27-3 in the third quarter of their game against Dallas. They walked away with a 34-30 victory.

This is a team with a life and spirit that has never been seen before in Detroit.

The Lions look to improve to 5-0 this weekend with a win over the Chicago Bears.

The weakness of the Bears is their offensive front. The strength of the Lions defense is their defensive front.

Nick Fairley could be back this week. Even if he's not, expect the front four in Detroit to get after Jay Cutler.

Monday Night Football should be a treat this weekend.

When all is said and done, the two remaining undefeated squads will remain unbeaten.
