Kim Kardashian Wedding Special: Event Will Unfortunately Captivate a Nation
The E! Network is set to televise the wedding of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries in a two night, four-hour special event. I tell you that I couldn't care any less, and you shouldn't either.
The nation is so captivated by the Kardashians that millions of them will waste four hours of their lives to watch one make believe celebrity marry an athlete. Most of us would pout if we had to waste two days of our lives at one of our relatives weddings.
On October 9th and 10th, the E! network will continue to dumb down our society.
The one thing that bothers me more than anything is that people will care to watch. They will care to discuss, and they will bother me with both things.
We have become so enamored with gossip that reality TV has swept the nation like Starbucks franchises. We get all the juicy tidbits of a celebrity relationship. Only, we don't.
There is no romance in a marriage that is provided by producers. You can't believe that every last dust up and problem is a real one. Many are highlighted by producers and flogged for the masses.
In a sense, it is as scripted as a sitcom. The only thing that is laughable is that we devote so many hours to a celebrity who has done little more than devote her life to the spotlight.
We have become a nation that settles. What happened to that notion of driving forward with ingenuity and creativity. Instead, we sit back like automatons and allow whatever we are told is popular to be forced fed to us.
Our brains are mush. That is really the only reason I can see for actual human beings to devote four precious hours to the Kardashians. You are forking over a great deal of money to a family that should frustrate you beyond belief.
Purchase a coloring book read it, and re-read it for four hours. I guarantee you that will be more deserving of your time.
Have fun watching in a couple days America. If you need me, I'll be hitting my head against a wall.
