Madonna: NFL Should Have No Problem with Madonna Nude Pics Ahead of Super Bowl

Madonna has had some nude pictures leaked to the masses this week. That's about par for the course, I think. 

The NFL is no doubt scrambling behind the scenes. The league has so far been silent on the nude pics of the Super Bowl XLVI halftime performer. That should be the reaction from here on out. 

The fact is, the NFL knew exactly what they were getting when they signed Madonna to perform at the biggest 15 minutes in sports for popular music.

The Super Bowl is a family affair. It's a place that is supposed to be a safe haven from controversy and scandal. That all went down the tubes when Janet Jackson flashed a breast when she performed with Justin Timberlake. 

If you take that outlier of a performance out, the rest of the Super Bowl performances have been forgettable. That is the very nature of the show. 

It is meant to keep you watching the game with family-friendly music. You should feel safe leaving the room as the kids are watching. Madonna is an aged pop star whose controversial days are well behind her, it would seem. 

The NFL is not in the habit of signing acts that are scintillating or current. Save the Black Eyed Peas, who sold out years ago, the acts have been a cavalcade of past-their-prime entities. 

Slash, The Who, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Prince, the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney have all featured in recent years. 

The formula is simple. Go out and get performers that used to be cutting edge decades ago. The same goes with Madonna. Only she separates herself from the other aged crooners in that controversy is all part of her act. 

Scandal is just what she does. These pics may have been leaked on accident, but they still leaked. Things like this have a way of following the material girl. 

The NFL knew what they were getting into when they tried to exact the same formula. That is why Madonna should feel safe from the axe. The show must go on. And for Madonna, this is all a part of her show.
