Fantasy Football Week 5: Calvin Johnson and 5 Best Touchdown-Grabbing WRs

Andrew KulhaOct 7, 2011

Having a great wide receiver can make a good NFL team a great one.

If you know you can throw it up to your guy no matter the scenario, it really changes the way you look at the game.

If you have a top five receiver, chances are you will have a top 5 team, especially in fantasy football.

Having a good receiver is a must, but having a great one is what separates the winners and losers.

Here are the Top 5 fantasy receivers heading into Week 5:

5. Hakeem Nicks, WR Giants: Nicks should really have a big week going against a Seattle Seahawks team that is notorious for giving up a ton of yards and points through the air. He is finally healthy, which means he is going to produce.

4. Steve Smith, WR Panthers: When all is said and done Smith may just be eating up empty numbers and stats, but thankfully for him fantasy football doesn't consider team wins and losses. It's crazy to see how different of a player Smith is now that he has a quarterback that he trusts to make plays under center.

3. Roddy White, WR Falcons: White and the Falcons are in for quite a tough test against the Packers. If the Pack do have one weakness it is their pass defense though, so White should have no problem tearing it up through the air on his way to some gaudy numbers.

2. Greg Jennings, WR Packers: Jennings is a great wide receiver on his own, but having Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball makes him almost unstoppable. Jennings is good for a touchdown almost every time he see's the field, and he's becoming one of the most consistent catchers in the league.

1. Calvin Johnson, WR Lions: It's a simple equation with Megatron: throw it up and he'll go get it. He's caught two touchdowns in every game so far this season, and I don't see that streak slowing down on Monday night against Chicago.
