The fact that Nebraska’s bowl destination isn’t official hasn’t stopped fans from firming up travel plans. The Cornhuskers’ invitation to play in the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Fla., probably will be announced Wednesday. Travel agents are ready.

Executive Travel in Lincoln sold out a 137-seat charter flight to Jacksonville in 2 1/2 hours on Monday, and owner Steve Glenn says he expects to fill three more flights before the Jan. 1 game. Glenn says people like the direction the team is headed and feel like “they’ve gotten their team back.”
