Nebraska Cornhuskers News and Notes
Husker News and Notes:
- A Gator Bowl invite is all but official. The Huskers will face either Clemson or Florida State.
- Our old friend Bill Callahan might end up on Lane Kiffin’s Tennessee staff. Bill Callahan (No people skills X Marginal Football Management Skills + Huge Ego + NY Times Reader / Slightly Above Average Offensive Mind) + Deep South (Oklahoma Hillbillies - Nickelback + Toby Keith) = Disaster
- Huskers another commitment for the 2009 Recruiting class: JC WR Brandon Kinnie:

Ted Gilmore was the lead recruiter on Kinnie:
"“It helped my stock a lot with recruiting,” Kinnie said of his size. “A lot of teams want big wideouts now to line up against a little corner, that’s very intimidating.”
Kinnie plans to graduate in May and will have three years to play upon arrival to Lincoln.
He also had offers from Arkansas and Kansas.
“It’s very exciting just to know you’re going to a town that loves football. That’s the only thing there, the main attraction. I can’t wait to get there and show what I can do.”
Kinnie really bonded with Gilmore, who he talked often to during the process.
“The coaches were genuine with me,” Kinnie said.
