Chad Ochocinco: Why It's Difficult to Believe WR Is off Twitter Due to a Bet
It's no secret that Chad Ochocinco loves to tweet, but the New England Patriots wide receiver hasn't tweeted in 12 days, and it's very hard to believe he stopped tweeting because he lost a bet.
For a guy who pumps out 40-plus tweets a day and currently has more than 30,000 tweets, why would he even agree to a wager that would result in him to stop tweeting?
Oh yeah, he plays for Bill Belichick.

If there truly is a bet, then obviously Ochocinco's arrogance got the best of him. But then again, Belichick was probably playing up to it.
If only this were the season in which Belichick was being followed by a camera crew. That would certainly make for some great television, thanks to Ochocinco.
Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald was the first to tweet about this bet, but the only problem is that nobody knows what was at stake.
The guess is that it had something to do with Ochocinco's performance in the Patriots loss to the Buffalo Bills on September 25th. Ochocinco was targeted four times, but he only caught two passes for 28 yards and had a key drop.
This could be the reason he hasn't tweeted in a while, but I'm not buying anything until Belichick comes forward and says something about it.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was an agreement between Belichick and Ochocinco for him stop tweeting only if Ochocinco could tell everyone he lost a bet. After all, being forced to quit Twitter would hurt Ochocinco's rep.
It's been a disappointing few weeks for Ochocinco, as he only has seven receptions for 113 yards and no touchdowns. When the Patriots signed him, many believed he would greatly help this offense, but that hasn't been the case at all.
Even other NFL players have taken notice of Ochocinco's absence from the game so far this season. New York Jets' cornerback Darelle Revis told Rapoport that he wonders why Ochocinco's stats are down.
""He hasn’t really been in [the game],’’ Revis said. “I guess that’s their thing up there. He hasn’t really played that much but from what I see (on film) you’d think he’d be more involved. I feel Chad can still play this game. The only thing I can say is that he should be playing more. But I’m not the coach. I’m not (Bill) Belichick.”
"
Before the season is over, I think Ochocinco will have a couple big games and finish the year with decent numbers.
However, he has to fully focus on becoming the best receiver on the team and not just think he's the best.
Perhaps being off Twitter is the key for this, which is why I believe Belichick forced him off the social media site.
Ochocinco can continue to tell us he lost a bet, but he's given no reason for anyone to believe it to be true.
