Boise State vs. Fresno State: TV Schedule, Live Stream, Radio and Game Time

Andrew KulhaOct 5, 2011

The Boise State Broncos look to continue their dominant and high-scoring ways, but in order to do so, they have to travel out West to square off with the Fresno State Bulldogs.

The Broncos are coming into the game 4-0 and ranked No. 5 in the country. It's another year with a great record and great performances from quarterback Kellen Moore and the offense, but yet another year where they aren't quite getting the respect that they deserve.

Fresno State has the home-field advantage, but they are 2-3 and coming off a big loss to Ole Miss. They are going to be hard-pressed to pull out a win against this Boise offense, even though they themselves are putting up 30.6 points a game.

Betting Line (Bodog.com): Boise State -21

Key Storyline:

The Broncos are coming off a game where their pass offense didn't look as good as usual, and the Broncos slipped down a spot in the polls. No offense to the Bulldogs, but this should be an easy win for Boise State. Anything less will be a disappointment.

Who Might Not Play for Boise State: Offensive lineman Matt Paradis probable (undisclosed), wide receiver Chris Potter questionable (hamstring), center Thomas Byrd questionable (undisclosed), fullback Dan Paul doubtful (groin), cornerback Jerrell Gavins out for season (knee), offensive lineman Jake Broyles out for season (undisclosed).

Who Might Not Play For Fresno State: Offensive lineman Leslie Cooper probable (ankle), offensive lineman Matt Hunt probable (ankle), offensive lineman Richard Helpiko probable (ankle), running back A.J. Ellis questionable (ankle), wide receiver Victor Dean questionable (foot).

BCS/Top 25 Implications:

At No. 5 in the country, every game means everything for Boise State. They need to stay undefeated to keep themselves in the title conversation. Fresno State, on the other hand, can pull off an upset of epic proportions and probably find themselves in the Top 25 with a win.

What They're Saying: Chadd Cripe of the Idaho Statesman writes about Boise State corner Quaylon Ewing-Burton, who is playing in his second start for the Broncos. He had a trouble past, but thanks to teammate and fourth-year starter safety George IIoka, he finds himself in the position he is in.

Damian Marquez of the Visalia Times-Delta writes about how, if Fresno State has any hope of beating Boise, they are going to have to stop quarterback Kellen Moore. The Bulldogs are excited for the challenge.

Boise State Player To Watch:

Broncos junior wideout Mitch Burroughs is going to have to step up and play a huge game. He only has one touchdown on the year so far, but he has the talent to really break out and tear the Bulldogs apart vertically.

Fresno State Player To Watch:

All the hopes and dreams for the Bulldogs are going to rest on the arm of quarterback Derek Carr. If they want to win, he's going to have to be their leader on the field, as well as on the sidelines.

Key Matchup:

Can Carr and the Fresno State offense keep up with Moore and Boise State. The Broncos are going to undoubtedly score a ton of points, so unless the Bulldogs can keep up, they don't have a shot at winning.

On the Hot Seat:

As long as Kellen Moore is under center for the Broncos, he will be on the hot seat. Actually, it's more like he's under the microscope. They will be as successful as he allows them to be.

Prediction:

The Bulldogs may have the home-field advantage early, but Boise State is No. 5 for a reason.
