NBA 2K12 Video: Watch Brian Wilson Sell '86 Celtics as Best Ever
Brian Wilson is a man of many talents.
Baseball player, beard aficionado, penguin and now NBA2k12 spokesman.
The San Francisco Giants closer is from Winchester Massachusetts and is a big Boston Celtics fan.
He uses a two-minute commercial for NBA2k12 to tell viewers why the 1985-1986 Celtics are the best team ever. Considering Wilson was four years old at the time, we’ll assume he got caught up via old footage on Youtube.
He opens the video decked out in his best 1986 Boston Celtics attire, complete with the short-shorts.
He drops some solid stats and makes a compelling argument about their incredible home record and playoff dominance.
Yet it’s pretty hard to take him seriously considering the pose he is sporting that is showcasing his short-shorts.
Then, right as I’m thinking this to myself, Wilson confuses the viewer by telling us we need to look at his shorts before telling us to stop.
MAKE UP YOUR MIND WILSON!!
Somehow Wilson acquired the championship banner which looks right at home in Wilson’s house.
(Side note…how much trouble would you get in for actually stealing a professional sports teams’ championship banner? Something to ponder).
His best point?
The Celtics have a leprechaun as their mascot.
A question that Wilson poses, that I also wonder…who doesn’t like leprechauns?
That’s the point of the video where I’m completely sold. Wilson once again closes and I’m convinced the ’86 Celtics are the best team of all-time.
Finally, after the closer does his job, the video cuts to some footage of the newly released NBA2k12. Judging from the brief clip, the graphics will be incredible and you’ll be able to play with some of the greatest legends in the game.
So even by posting a two minute commercial with about 10 seconds of footage…I’m pumped up abut 2K12.
