2012 NFL Mock Draft: Projecting the Draft's Top 3 Picks
For the teams that know they're already out of playoff contention, other than playing the spoiler role for the remainder of the 2011 NFL season, preparing well ahead of time for the 2012 NFL Draft is a good idea.
Also, it's never too early for draft talk, as it's arguably the biggest weekend of the year for pro football.
To that end, here are the top three projected picks in the 2012 NFL Draft.

2027 NFL Mock Draft 🔮

Players and Teams That Want Draft Redo 🔄

Projecting NFL Teams Most Likely to Tank for 2027 📉
1. Andrew Luck: QB, Stanford (Miami Dolphins)
Regardless of who has the No. 1 overall pick, chances are they're going to draft Andrew Luck from Stanford.
Well, right now it looks as if the Miami Dolphins will be that franchise, since not only are they 0-4, but they are in desperate need of a solid QB.
In addition, it would be a good idea to bring in a new head coach as well; thus, a solid refreshment for Miami fans heading into the 2012 season with a new guy under center, as well as a new coach in charge.
2. Justin Blackmon: WR, Oklahoma State (St. Louis Rams)
Other than Michael Sims-Walker (who's slightly above average at best), the St. Louis Rams really don't have any solid receiving threats for QB Sam Bradford.
Fear not, Rams fans, because look no further than Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon—who won the Fred Biletnikoff award as a sophomore in 2010.
He's by far the best weapon on Oklahoma State's team, and Blackmon and Bradford would complement each other very well, along with making Sim-Walker more of a viable threat.
If the Rams want to really stand out in the NFC West, having an offense that shreds its weak defenses will most certainly suffice.
3. Alshon Jeffery: WR, South Carolina (Minnesota Vikings)
Here's why South Carolina WR Alshon Jeffery is so good: His QB is Stephen Garcia—enough said.
As a sophomore in 2010, Jeffery compiled 1,517 yards and scored nine TDs on 88 receptions.
His numbers are a bit down this season, but that's mainly because the Gamecocks are relying more on RB Marcus Lattimore, since that will decrease the odds of Garcia making even more mistakes.
But, put Jeffery on an offense that has a sick ground game (thanks to Adrian Peterson), as well as a prosperous young QB in Christian Ponder, and the Vikings will be much improved and Alshon will dominate as a rookie.
Plus, having two solid TEs in Visanthe Shiancoe and Kyle Rudolph are only going to make Minny that much more prolific.
