Rampage Jackson vs. Metta World Peace: Tale of the Tape for the Boxing Matchup
On Tuesday, Metta World Peace, formerly Ron Artest, would appear to have agreed to a charity boxing match with former UFC light heavyweight champion, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.
World Peace tweeted saying:
"Rampage gonna test my chin for charity!! This will be the biggest heavyweight fight outside klits and haye!!
"
Fortunately, the Haye-Klitchko fight was a bit of a disappointment, so World Peace doesn't have that much to live up to.
If these two do end up meeting inside the ring, let's take a look at an early tale of the tape for these two heavyweights.
Rampage Jackson
1 of 3Age: 33
Fight Record: 34-9
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 240
Reach: 73"
Style: Boxing and wrestling
Everybody knows what Rampage Jackson's style is. He goes in there looking to bash your face in.
That translates well to boxing.
Rampage has the one-punch KO power, and he could definitely end World Peace in violent fashion.
Metta World Peace (aka Ron Artest)
2 of 3Age: 31
Fight Record: 1-0 (suspended after bout)
Height: 6'7"
Weight: 260
Reach: 86"
Style: Bumrush and go after the wrong guy
World Peace would go out there and go after Rampage immediately, at least based on past fights.
World Peace has talked about wanting to fight, specifically box, in the future, so him looking to do it now would be a head start for future endeavors.
World Peace is much bigger than Rampage, and he could use that to his advantage by clinching and wearing down Rampage.
Winner
3 of 3In the end, I would expect Rampage to triumph over World Peace.
Rampage has the violent knockouts on his side, and although World Peace does have one TKO under his belt, it was not against a trained, or prepared, opponent.
It doesn't really matter how this one ends, but if it ever happens, it will be a fun and entertaining way to earn some money for charity.
