Chiefs vs. Colts: TV Schedule, Live Streaming, Radio, Game Time and More

Donald WoodOct 4, 2011

This was one of those games that people circled on the calendar before the season started and before we found out Peyton Manning wasn’t going to be around, but now it’s a snorefest waiting to happen.

While I believe both teams are better than their 1-7 combined record shows, they will both be in the hunt for Andrew Luck at the end of this season because of just how bad these two teams are.

What's at Stake?

What’s at stake is the rights to future No. 1 overall draft pick Andrew Luck out of Stanford. Both of these teams are terrible, and it’s a good possibility that these are the two teams that are vying for the worst team in the NFL award.

Fantasy: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em and Sleeper

Start 'Em: Dwayne Bowe, Chiefs

The only bright spot on the Kansas City Chiefs this year has been wide receiver Dwayne Bowe, and a weak Indianapolis Colts secondary will get burnt by a tall, physical wideout like Bowe.

Sit 'Em: Matt Cassel, Chiefs

If there is one thing that has become abundantly clear in Kansas City, it’s that Matt Cassel is overrated. With no run game and little help at receiver, Cassel will be in for another long day.

Sleeper: Curtis Painter, Colts

Although the 13-of-30 passing doesn’t look great, as the Colts begin to trust Painter more and more he will show that the 281 yards and two touchdowns was no fluke.

What They're Saying

"

If Collins isn't going to give the Colts an appreciably better chance to win than Painter, why not play Painter and let him grow? If you don't trust him after three years, what's the point in having him on the roster?

Maybe he will grow into a passable backup, so that if there's another Manning injury down the road, they won't have to throw $4 million at a veteran quarterback.

Put it this way: He played well enough for the Colts to win. Through three quarters, the Colts had just 35 offensive snaps, and still scored 17 points. Not bad.

"
"

That’s kind of how we have to play to win. Defensively, we’ve got to try our best to stop the run, and we did, for the most part. We’ve got to do a better job on those reverses. That was a big chunk of yardage that could have hurt us more.

We need to keep big plays from happening. We’ve got to win on special teams, (and) I believe we clearly won on special teams. Offensively, we’ve got to run the ball and kind of stick to the plan and then make plays in the passing game without taking too much risk.

"

Key Matchup: Kansas City Offensive Line vs. Indianapolis Colts Defensive Line

With the recent struggles of quarterback Matt Cassel and the entire Chiefs run game, it is crucial for Kansas City to win this battle to have a chance in the game. If Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis get loose, though, it will be a bad day for the Chiefs.

Prediction: Indianapolis Colts 17, Kansas City Chiefs 7
