NFL Rumors: Aaron Curry Is Good Option for Struggling Eagles' Defense
When you consider the names that the Eagles brought in during the offseason, Aaron Curry doesn't seem like much.
But when you look at how Carolina has started this season, it's actually a nice move to make.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Steve Reed of the Gaston Gazette and Carolina Growl reported that the Eagles are one team interested in bringing Curry in.
Curry is not a sexy name, but the Eagles are desperate at linebacker. The Philadelphia pass rush is strong and the secondary will be okay, but they are going to have a hard time defending the run if the linebackers can't play any better than they have been.
The Eagles' run stopping ability has been dismal this year. If you don't believe me, take a look at the stats.
| Week 1: @ St. Louis | Steven Jackson: 2 carries, 59 yards, 1 TD. Cadillac Williams: 19 carries, 91 yards |
| Week 2: @ Atlanta | Michael Turner: 21 carries, 114 yards, 1 TD |
| Week 3: vs. New York Giants | Ahmad Bradshaw: 15 carries, 86 yards |
| Week 4: vs. San Francisco | Frank Gore: 15 carries, 127 yards, 1 touchdown. Kendall Hunter: 9 carries, 38 yards |
The totals aren't as alarming as the incredible yards per carry averages that are being produced. Sure, big plays will always skew that but with the exception of Jackson, the backs have gotten enough carries for the Eagles to bring that down.
Philadelphia started the year with a win against the Rams. But look at the last three games. In all three games, the Eagles led in the fourth quarter, yet they lost all three.
Aaron Curry may not seem like a game-changer. But he's a linebacker that can provide some stability to the defense.
If you're not sold on Curry, I get it. But this unit is going to lead the Eagles to a disastrous season. At the very worst, the Eagles should be 3-1 right now.
Instead, they sit at 1-3 and are in all out panic mode. The players brought in on defense were just not enough.
The group of linebackers that Philadelphia trots out doesn't scare anyone. Opposing offenses can play away from the Eagles' strengths. If they can't figure out a way to force teams to go at their strengths, this season will end in disaster.
