Stephon Marbury: The Man Who Keeps Getting Screwed by the New York Knicks

If you have seen the Knicks saga I feel for you, and I also feel for the Knicks fans who have had to put up with it. See Stephon Marbury has been getting screwed by Mike D'Antoni for some time now.

I know that he hated him in a Suns uniform so he got rid of him, basic move I guess. But now the Knicks are being just plain stupid. Unlike the Suns they are keeping an unhappy Marbury, and not even playing him.

Now sure he has been asked to play a few times and declined, but who wouldn't? Marbury is getting screwed over by the Knicks and D'Antoni and I think it is just plain dumb.

See Marbury could be released or traded by the Knicks easily. The Knicks have about a 21 million dollar salary in Marbury and yet they are trading away people  get ready for the 2010 free agent class that is including the likes of LeBron James and others.

But they are forgetting that it is two freakin years away. They have a small roster right now, and at the beginning of the year they seemed to have no room for Marbury. They told him he may not play at all, if ever.

And then he gets the cold shoulder by the media say it was his fault for what happened. And he should play when asked. I personally take Marbury's side here. Why can the Knicks not get rid of the guy?

They have everything to gain by getting rid of him. They get tons of cap room and they could get some young talent in return for a trade if that is the way they get rid of him. Marbury could be out of New York right now.

Instead the Knicks keep a guy who won games for them before and did what he could for the organization and now it is like he is just another guy. It is unfair to the fans and mostly Marbury of course.

The Knicks keep on their losing ways, with a short roster and without Marbury. Who they set home last week and was not allowed to come back until today. The Knicks keep missing the ball with him to me.

If they thought he was a problem before this year, why could they not take care of it in the off-season? Now it is heavily publicized and in New York no less, the city that is always in the media.

And then you have the gaul to keep him around, but on the bench, mostly in a suit and tie and not even playing. It makes no sense and the Knicks need to wonder if they are going to win anytime soon now because of this.

See this effects anyone who could be thinking about joined this team. They see how Marbury is taken care of, and wonder if they want to go there. They may think to pass because of it.

Guys like LeBron James who has been in a player friendly organization must be wondering about playing with the Knicks right now, especially since he is rumored to be going there. I mean it is not that the Knicks don't have a good history in basketball.

But you have to think if they want to attract people now they cannot use their history any more, they have to use things that will attract players to them, and seeing what is going on with a guy like Marbury who helped them allot until this year, a player has to wonder.

IT may be just another sign that the Knicks are the NBA's version of the Detroit Lions right now, a team that will never win again. Sure this is the NBA, you'll see them win games, but getting to the play-offs and much less winning there seems to be way far off.

It may never happen in my lifetime if this continues. We will just see another player getting screwed over.
