NFL Picks Week 5: Why Steelers and Eagles Are Due for Another Loss Sunday
Have I got a story for you. It involves two contenders, we will call them the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles. They thought the season would be a breeze. Yeah, not so much.
The standings are a tad skewed from what we thought they would look like. The Eagles and Steelers have resembled squads not nearly as picturesque as we promised.
Their efforts have been humble, and their issues great. The best thing about the NFL is the great amount of parity that covers the league.

The trouble is that some star-studded squads are forced to suffer in the process. I have no doubts that the Eagles and Steelers will figure it all out. They just won't do it in Week 5.
If you are fans of a tasty little dish called humble pie, you may want to read on to see where we will find both teams at this time next week.
1. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Tennessee Titans are coming to Heinz Field, and they are bringing a the momentum of a three-game winning streak with them.
This game typifies one of the most unusual chasm's in the NFL. The Titans are, as of this moment, a superior defense. They have had success against a myriad of offenses. While great against the pass, the Steelers are having issues with the run in the early goings.
What really troubles me about the Steelers is their offensive line. The soft line allowed Ben Roethlisberger to once again get racked with hits. He and his ankle will be a question all week. Add to that the hamstring injury of Rashard Mendenhall, and things look grim in Week 5.
2. Philadelphia Eagles
Well, this was supposed to be a far different few weeks than it has been. The Eagles thought their "Dream Team" squad would be 4-0 by this time. Instead, they have three losses, and could have more if Steven Jackson were not hurt in the first game.
The defense that was supposed to be impenetrable has been very much penetrable in the early goings. The young linebacker corps is allowing far too many yards on the ground.
On Sunday, the Buffalo Bills will rebound from a lackluster showing of their own. Buffalo is a tough place to play in. The Bills will hit the ground running, literally. It should be a fine day for Fred Jackson fantasy owners.
