Tebow vs. Orton: Is John Fox the Right Fit for Bronco Fans?
With such a number of Bronco-maniacs screaming for Tim Tebow to start, the head coach John Fox has very little interest in pleasing the fans cries.
Fox often claims that “Kyle Orton gives us the best chance to win” and repeatedly answers the Tebow cries with that proclamation.
The problem is that the Bronco’s are not winning and even during mop-up duty at the end of the Green Bay game, Fox did not play Tebow and stuck with Orton right to the conclusion of the blowout. I suspect the reasoning is that if Tebow plays well, then the outcry would just get out of control. This is the coach’s way to suppress this.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
If the Bronco’s were winning, this would not be an issue since winning is more important than who is quarterback, but Orton’s record is 6-20 over the last 26 games in Denver. When Coach Fox was hired, the expectations were for a total reversal of anything resembling Josh McDaniel’s the former coach.
What has transpired is that Kyle Orton is still running the offense and still losing! Orton is in a no-win situation here in Denver as he will never be embraced by the fan base since it brings to memory the start of the McDaniel’s regime by trading Jay Cutler and the start of a downward spiral of the franchise.
The front office did itself a disservice when they failed to move Orton prior to the preseason. The vast majority of the fans were glad to see Orton go and looked forward to a fresh start with Tebow, but what happened was a big whoops, the trade fell apart and Orton was then anointed the starter and the Tebow circus began.
I feel if the losing continues, the fan reaction will turn on Fox and he will have little room for error going forward. If Fox had played Tebow, he would have had a free pass for the year since the fan base saw this coming and would like to see if he is the QB for this franchise or not.
For me, I feel the Bronco’s need to start preparing for the future and they have seen what they need to see from Kyle Orton. Whether it is Quinn or Tebow, they need to analyze what they have in-house before pursuing a trade or to draft the next quarterback.
Also, when I see how Coach Fox’s old team (Panther’s) played against the Packers in week two, compared that to how the Bronco’s just played against the same Packer team, it appears the Panther’s have moved further along in progress without Fox.
So when a John Fox team looks closer to a Josh McDaniel's team than that of a one hoping to rise from the ashes, it is a matter of time before the wrath of the fans is directed to the coach. The QB play is just one the team’s issues but it is the most important position on the team and needs to be figured out sooner than later. Can the coach change his tune from “Kyle gives us the best chance to win” to “We are looking at our best option to build for the future”?
John Fox are you listening?
