No. 1 NORTH CAROLINA 116, UNC – Asheville (Bulldogs, 3,609 students, Asheville, NC) 48 – Tyler Hansbrough rested in anticipation of Wednesday’s game against  Michigan State, and Ty Lawson led the Tar Heels with 22 points against over matched UNC-Asheville.

Danny Green added 18 points—all from six of eight shooting from behind the arc.   

No. 21 Georgetown (Hoyas, 14,148 students, Washington, DC) 75, MARYLAND 48 – Maryland’s starters contributed a whopping 26 points as the Hoyas flexed some Big East muscle in the Old Spice Classic. Austin Freeman scored 18 points, and DaJuan Summers had 14 for Georgetown. Adrian Bowie and Eric Hayes each had 11 for the Terps.

No. 19 WAKE FOREST 87, Baylor (Bears, 11,381 students, Waco, TX) 74 – All five Deacon starters ended up in double figures, led by L.D. Williams’ double-double (15 points/10 rebounds) while winning the 76 Classic.

N.C. STATE 79, UNC – Greensboro (Spartans, 13,308 students, Greensboro, NC) 52 - Courtney Fells scored 22 points to lead North Carolina State past UNC Greensboro. Ben McCauley added 17 points and 15 rebounds for the Wolfpack (4-0). Kendall Toney led UNC Greensboro (1-3) with 16 points.
