Roddy White Injury: Updates on Falcons Star's Week 5 Status and Fantasy Value
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White's thigh injury is creating headaches for both the player and the team. The 2010 All-Pro has been dealing with the injury since preseason but has not missed a game yet.
There are no plans for White to sit out Week 5 against the Green Bay Packers, but his fantasy value does take a hit as long as he is dealing with this injury.
He has been inconsistent this season, though he does lead the team in catches with 26. He only has one touchdown catch and is averaging just 11.6 yards per catch.

The Atlanta Falcons have the biggest game of their young season tonight when they take on the defending Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers, and they won’t win without Roddy White.
The Green Bay Packers have been giving up big yards this season to receivers, and Roddy White and Julio Jones will have a huge game if Matt Ryan has time in the pocket. Play both with confidence.

The Atlanta Falcons will be taking on one of the toughest teams in the NFL this season in the Green Bay Packers, but the most dangerous animal is the wounded one. With Roddy White practicing with the Falcons this week after hurting his thigh, he will be a key in Atlanta’s gameplan.
Roddy White told Sporting News about the trash Aaron Rodgers thinks the Falcons are talking:
"What am I supposed to say about last year? It was last year. If he wants to use that as motivation, let him use that as motivation. Anything to get you going? He’s reaching.
"
While Roddy White is a bit of a risk as a start, the odds of Green bay scoring big will force the Falcons into a pass first offense, making White a must-start in most fantasy leagues.

Superstar WR Roddy White is making progress heading into the epic Sunday Night showdown with the Green Bay Packers. All signs are pointing up for the Falcons' No. 1 WR, despite a matchup with Green Bay CB Charles Woodson.
"Roddy White (thigh) was upgraded to limited participation in Thursday's practice," according to Rotoworld's Staff.

Roddy White is struggling through four weeks by his standards. He's dropping passes he would normally catch and is bothered by a thigh injury. He missed practice today, according to AJC.com's D. Orlando Ledbetter, but fantasy owners and Falcons fans shouldn't fret. White is expected to play this week against the Green Bay Packers. Fantasy owners, don't expect him to bounce back this week as he battles with Charles Woodson.

Nothing new to report on White, but he should be playing this Sunday when the Green Bay Packers roll into town.
White has consistently been dropping balls this season, which is very uncharacteristic of him. He knows he needs to step up, but the Packers know how to shut him down. The two times they played a year ago White only scored one touchdown and never had more than 60 yards receiving.
Think twice about playing White this week, especially if you have strong options on the bench.

According to a report in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, White is unhappy with his performance, particularly against Seattle in Week 4, and sounds like he is just physically and mentally beaten up right now.
"Right now, I’m not playing at a high level," he said. "I’m not really helping my team. I have to fix myself so that we can perform better. We’ll get better. Yeah, those are plays that I usually make. I’ve just got to make them. I can’t keep putting my team in bad situations."
The Falcons need White to be the player he was last season if they want to have any chance to make another trip to the playoffs.
White is doubting himself right now and the injury doesn't make things easier, but he is too good to be down for long.
