49ers: Niners On Upset Mission
The Bills found out the hard way, in a battle of defense, weather, and ineptitude, that the 49ers are not just going to roll over and let the season go.
Mike Singletary is fighting for a job, maybe not just in San Francisco. Due to a scheduling miracle, or curse, the NFC West has had to face the AFC East and NFC East this season. Both divisions are the toughest in the league with every team in those divisions carrying a winning record.
Even when Mike Nolan was around the 49ers took it to every team and found ways to lose. Nevertheless, the 49ers will impact the playoffs. The Bills were team number one and have been all but eliminated from the playoffs. They are now at the bottom of the wild card and the odds are definitely against them. Still, stranger things have happened in the NFL, so Bills fans take solace in that.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Next week is the New York Jets. The Brett Farve squad is flying high and while the 49ers may not knock them out of the playoffs, they can create some drama.
That division is still fairly open. The Dolphins are continuing their surge and the Patriots are hanging tough. Still, the Jets could put away the division with a win against the 49ers. This is why the 49ers could spoil. The Patriots and Dolphins are still itching for a shot at the division and it is the Jets' to lose.
I am not saying that with a loss next week the Jets will spiral out of first late in the season and miss the playoffs like another New York team, but it could shake up the seeding and make for entertaining football the last three weeks.
After a date with the Jets, the 49ers match up against the Dolphins and look to make a second win on the east coast.
At the beginning of the year this was looking like a fight for a draft pick but instead this is now a tussle for playoffs implications. The Dolphins are riding a miracle wave into the playoffs. Unfortunately, all waves come crashing down after time.
The Dolphins are a team on the edge. They have exceeded everyone's expectations but their own and have put a stamp on the NFL this year with the Wildcat offense. But Cinderella's team may not have the Boston Celtic ending they want.
The team will fight for the playoffs but after the season ending injury to Greg Camarillio they have lost most of their chances. The Dolphins already had a weak receiving corp , but this injury makes it depleted. Pennington has done great with what he has, but will it be enough to make play offs?
If the 49ers beat the Jets the week before then this game becomes even more prudent and crucial to the Dolphins. But is it fair to say that those who giveth, may also take away?
After the Dolphins, the 49ers play the Rams. The only thing the 49ers can spoil in this game is the Rams fans who actually pay attention to this game and possibly a few fantasy football playoffs for those savvy owners who start Shaun Hill to upset the top ranked team.
Finally, the 49ers play the Redskins in the season ender. The Redskins are almost out of the playoffs now but they rode a great final few weeks last season so it could happen again.
This game could lead to the Redskins or Cowboys making the play offs. If this happens I will not know what to do because a win could put my most hated team into the playoffs, but I refuse to root for my team to lose. (For the 49er faithful out there I rooted for a the 49ers in the Reggie Bush sweepstakes even if a loss got us the #1 pick)
So the 49ers could be sitting on three potentially spoiling games. They are good at doing it too, after they beat the Broncos to knock them out two years ago. Under Mike Nolan the 49ers won many games in the last four weeks, but with Singletary who knows what will happen.
I do know this though, the 49ers and their fans are on spoiler alert and your team could be next.
