Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Ryan Torain and 3 Pickups You Can't Live Without

Move over Tim Hightower, there is a better fantasy option on the Washington Redskins.

Ryan Torain saw his first extended action on Sunday and did not disappoint. In the Redskins' 17-10 win over the winless Rams, Torain scampered for 135 yards and a TD on only 19 carries. That's a 7.1 average!

After Torain missed the first two games of the season with a broken arm, it's clear who Mike Shanahan prefers to give the ball to. Hightower could only muster 24 yards in his eight carries.

Torain is terrific in the zone-run blocking scheme that the Redskins incorporate, and is going to be the featured back from here on out. He is available in the vast majority of ESPN leagues at the moment.

Here are two other players worth a waiver-wire pickup:


QB Jason Campbell

The Raiders QB will never have a Mike Vick-like day, but he is beginning to be one of the most reliable QBs in the league. He had 344 yards and a TD against the Patriots defense on Sunday. Campbell rarely turns the ball over and you can pencil in double-digit fantasy points every week.

He has the speedy receivers that are perfect for turning a five-yard gain into a 70-yard touchdown.

Again, this isn't spectacular, but when you have guys like Sam Bradford starting...Campbell sounds great.


RB Bernard Scott

Cedric Benson will likely start his suspension in Week 5 against the Jaguars and the little-used Scott is suddenly a must start. The Bengals have given Benson a ton of touches in the past four games and I wouldn't expect things to change much with Scott under center.

The speedy back is capable of breaking through for huge gains and is also a receiving threat that will likely get around five passes thrown his way.

If you need a back to deal with your injuries, Scott is a great guy to pickup.
