WWE Hell in a Cell 2011 Results: Grading the Match Outcomes

Two weeks after Night of Champions, WWE saw fit to hold another pay-per-view. With such short build-up, how did they do?

We're going to grade them on what transpired.

Sheamus defeated Christian

Given the fact that Mark Henry is still the champion, this was without a doubt the right direction to go.

Sin Cara Blue & Gold defeats Sin Cara Black & Silver

My pick would've been for the heel to get the victory, but it's not a huge problem either way. The Black & Silver Sin Cara needs rebranding now, but I suppose if the outcome went the other way, Blue & Gold wouldn't have become "Mistico."

Air Boom vs Vickie Guerrero's Guys

Absolutely the right thing to do.

Mark Henry successfully defends the belt against Randy Orton

It would have been very disappointing if Henry had lost the belt so soon, and now we'll get to really see how Henry performs as champ, with his upcoming second defense against a different challenger.

Cody Rhodes successfully defends the IC title against John Morrison

I don't like the impromptu match at all. That belt used to be one of the most sought-after prizes in the business, and WWE gives a throwaway match as a title defense for it? John Morrison should be considered a potential opponent in the main event scene—specifically on SmackDown, and this outcome doesn't help his cause at all.

Beth Phoenix defeats Kelly Kelly for the Diva's Championship

Long overdue, the feud was executed poorly, but the right person has the belt now.

Alberto Del Rio defeats Cena and Punk to become the WWE Champion

This one was a "no win" situation, and in looking at the three possibilities, this wasn't the worst and it wasn't the best.

Overall Grade: B-

A truly uninspired card, but most of the right decisions were made.
