Ben Roethlisberger Injury: Latest Updates on Pittsburgh Steelers QB's Ankle

A number of big-name NFL players went down with injury today during their teams' Week 4 matchups.

Two of those major injuries happened during the Steelers vs. Texans game when Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson went down with a knee injury, later followed by Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger with an ankle injury.

Sacked five times and hit numerous more during his team's loss on Sunday, Roethlisberger took his most tolling hit during the Steelers' second-to-last drive in the fourth quarter when he was tackled from behind, injuring his foot.  

Although he finished the game, Roethlisberger limped around the field and needed help hobbling to the locker room after its conclusion.

Later, Roethlisberger was spotted leaving the stadium on crutches and in a walking boot.  X-rays have been taken, but there is no word of the results as of yet.

Whether or not Roethlisberger will be available for his team matchup with the hot Tennessee Titans next week is yet to be determined, but he has played with a broken foot in the past and stated clearly that if he can play, he will play.

"You know me, if I can be out there, I'm going to be out there. That's so for next week too," Roethlisberger said. "If I can do it and if I have to cast it up—we saw I had to do that last year, I casted up my foot for the last half of the year. If we have to do it, I'll do it."

In the event that Roethlisberger cannot play next week, the Steelers could be in a world of hurt as he was not the only player in the Steelers' lineup who suffered injury.  Running back Rashard Mendenhall, linebacker James Harrison and defensive end Aaron Smith were all sidelined during Sunday's loss.
