Lions 34, Cowboys 30: Cardiac Cats Roar Back for a Stunning Victory

Ali HammoudOct 2, 2011

Well it’s the same old Lions; you know the team that likes to give itself a hole to see from how far they can comeback.

Last week they trailed by 20 before coming back, not to be outdone, this week they come back from 24, to beat the Dallas Cowboys 34-30.

The first half must have had everyone wondering if they Lions were being exposed as frauds, they were being manhandled in all phases of the game.  Especially of concern was the lack of pass rush on defense. Tony Romo seemed to have all day to pick and chose which receiver to go to down the field.

On offense the Lions were out of sync, with Matthew Stafford struggling to find his rhythm. The Lions did manage a field goal, and trailed 20-3 at halftime.

The second half was a different story at Tony Romo managed to play his way from hero status to goat in a mere 30 minutes of football. Romo threw three interceptions with two returned for touchdowns.

Matthew Stafford rebounded to throw for 240 yards and 2 touchdowns.

For the fourth week in a row Calvin Johnson caught two touchdown passes. The last of the touchdowns gave the Lions the lead for good. Johnson has now set an an NFL record for multiple touchdown games to start the season.

I will have a more in depth look at this game tomorrow in my Monday Morning Quarterback article.
