Danieal Manning, Ronnie Brown and the Biggest Boneheads from NFL Week 4

Matt KingOct 2, 2011

The one thing I love more than some great NFL highlights are some great NFL screw-ups.

It's great to hear somebody go "Wow! Did you see that play?!?" But I'd rather hear somebody crack up and go "Oh my gosh, that was hilarious. Get in here, you need to watch this guy."

With Ronnie Brown setting the tone for the worst plays of the day, let's take a quick look at the dumbest things to happen so far this week.

Ronnie Brown Tries to Be a QB

1 of 6

You're a good man, Ronnie Brown. Just...not on this goal-line play.

After getting stuffed on the one, Brown decided that he was going to get the ball into the endzone using any means necessary. That meant inexplicably trying to throw the ball into the endzone as he's getting tacked.

Unfortunately for him, it didn't work out so well and he ended up fumbling the ball.

Danieal Manning's Stupid Holding Penalty

2 of 6

Is there anything worse than blocking a kick, returning it for a touchdown, then having it called back by a penalty?

How about if the penalty took place nowhere near the play and should never have happened? Yeah, that's what it felt like for Texans fans after Danieal Manning completely screwed Houston out of seven points with a dumbass holding penalty way away from the play.

Matt Cassel Gets into Shouting Match with Coach

3 of 6

Even though this didn't happen in the game, it definitely counts as one of the biggest boneheaded moments of the day so far.

Cassell could be seen on the sideline just screaming at his coach, Todd Haley, who was letting Cassell have it as well.

The Chiefs were up 9-7 at half, but you couldn't be enthusiastic about their chances while the team's QB and coach were at each other's throats.

Romo Loves Throwing TDs...To the Other Team

4 of 6

The Cowboys have been shutting down the high-powered offense of the Lions all day, but Tony Romo is such a generous guy that he's been trying to help keep them in the game.

Detroit has only one offensive TD, but they have two defensive scores thanks to two pick-sixes by Mr. Romo himself.

If the Lions come back to win this game, Romo is going to get a thrashing in the media.

Alex Henery Isn't Clutch

5 of 6

Maybe it's the fact that the Eagles are playing the 49ers, which now employs their long-time kicker David Akers, and the new guy for Philly was a little nervous.

Either way, with a chance to get out ahead of the Niners with a little breathing room in the fourth quarter, Alex Henery just could not make a chip shot.

Henery botched a 39-yarder and a 33-yarder. After blowing a huge lead to lose to SF and go 1-3, the Eagles are definitely kicking themselves right now.

Marion Barber Cannot Do Backflips

6 of 6

After Barber scored the TD to ice the game against the Panthers, his first TD as a Bear, he tried to celebrate with a backflip.

It didn't go well.

Barber landed on his knees, which doesn't seem like the smartest thing for a guy just now coming off an injury.

Still, this was probably the funniest celebration of the year so far.
