Have the Dallas Cowboys Exposed the Detroit Lions as Frauds?

Jeff KneisOct 2, 2011

The Dallas Cowboys are really taking it to the Detroit Lions with a huge lead at home. The Lions' offense looks to be out of rhythm, and the defense is really struggling to contain the Cowboys' explosive offense. Are the Cowboys exposing the Lions as a fraud?

I believe the Cowboys have proven the Lions are a fraud this season. Dallas is showing what many believed before the season, that Detroit is still a young team. Matthew Stafford is missing open receivers, the offensive line is having trouble picking up the blitz and the defense is having major issues in the secondary.

The Lions are probably a year away from being a dominant team in the NFL. Stafford is proving he will be a great QB for years to come, but still is making mistakes. The defense is ahead of the offense and should continue to get better as the secondary improves.

Detroit has only played one good team so far besides the Cowboys. Both the Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings will be in the "Andrew Luck Sweepstakes" throughout the season. These two doormats have inflated the Lions' expectations heading into Week 4 to an unfair level. The Lions will likely be in the hunt to make the playoffs, but should not be in the conversation as one of the top teams in the NFL.

The defense is keeping the team in the game, but the Lions' offense doesn't have enough weapons to beat the top teams in the NFL. The Lions need to improve their offensive line, add another wide receiver and improve the defensive backs to take the team to the next level.
