Oakland Raiders Need to Hear Famous Last Words: Just Win, Baby! When? Today!

One writer said that the Oakland Raiders are somewhat like the honey badger. The badger is one of the most aggressive animals according to the Guinness Book.

Well, every animal has a predator who just might capture, control or conquer it. Of course, when I think about the Oakland Raiders, I want them to be at the top of the NFL pyramid for being smart, aggressive and determined to claim victory.

On the television a few minutes ago, some of the media guys picked the Oakland Raiders. They have noted that the Raiders have improved faster than what most folks expected. Good!

One guy said the Raiders will do well because of Darren McFadden and his rushing game. Another added that he hopes Al Davis does not influence Hue Jackson away from the rushing game. Then another said that you cannot forget about Denarius Moore, a man who can catch and run the ball.

Teamwork is what we need. On the spot smarts and doing what you believe to be right with confidence can make the difference. It could be that a guy who is hardly mentioned in the media will be the team member who makes the difference in the game. Famous Raiders like Gene Upshaw emphasized these ideas in an NFL video about the phenomenal 1980 victories.

We dare not get excited, yet.  There is so much work to do. There are still 12 or more games to play. At this point, I really don't care what the major media says. They have been unjust and unsupportive for so long that I perceive them to still be dangerous with the following strategy: build us up in order to take pleasure in tearing us down, again.

They may want the Oakland Raiders to listen to their comments and get careless because their egos may get out of balance. 

I declare that the Oakland Raiders need not listen to the media and focus on the task before them. They must play hard, as though the chips are down, but they want to fight hard to overcome any and every obstacle including a state of mind that settles for the recent success.

You, Oakland Raiders, have not done anything until you actually get to the finish line. What is the finish line? The playoffs and presence in the Super Bowl. As Fred said, "Win the Super Bowl," too.

Until then, play ball with your heart, mind and soul focused on getting to the finish line. We are waiting to see what the end is going to be in 2011.
