Roddy White Injury: Will Questionable WR Still Be Matt Ryan's Favorite Target?

Andrea HangstOct 2, 2011

Yes, Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White is listed as questionable for today's game against the Seattle Seahawks, but his fantasy owners should not worry.

White spent nearly all of 2010 listed as questionable, but he started all 16 games and ended the season as one of the best fantasy wide receivers in the league.

This far this season, White has 20 receptions for 224 yards and one touchdown; a slow start to be sure, but one that will likely reverse course as the season goes on. Add in a healthy dose of the Seahawks' terrible pass defense and, questionable or not, White is set to have a big day for your team this afternoon.

Regardless of how rookie receiver Julio Jones makes his presence known, today or going forward, White is quarterback Matt Ryan's primary target, and this shouldn't change this year. Don't be surprised if White remains questionable for most of the season, considering he was last year, but don't panic or consider him a risky start either.

If White suits up, he's an every week must-start fantasy receiver. There's no reason to believe that whatever his thigh injury is that it will be severe or significant enough to limit him either this week or in the weeks that follow.

Indeed, who else can fill White's shoes? The Falcons have one real receiving threat, and that's White. If he's on the field, he's guaranteed to get the most looks from Ryan. Start him this week and every week.
