The Macho Rhino NFL Week 4 Picks

Macho RhinoOct 2, 2011

I had another good week with my picks last week, going 12-4 to put my season record at 36-12. There are some good matchups this week around the league that are difficult to pick. Hopefully I keep predicting winners in Week 4 with these picks:

Lions at Cowboys

The Cowboys have to figure out the snap count and center/quarterback exchange problems. I think the Lions front four will overwhelm them and knock the injured Tony Romo out of this game. The Lions will be 4-0.

THE PICK: Lions 27-17

The Jags are at least at home but the last thing you want is a rookie QB, Blaine Gabbert, having to match superstar Drew Brees TD pass for TD pass. The Saints get a lead and Gregg Williams dials up the heat on the rookie.

THE PICK: Saints 28-13

Peyton Hillis should be back and is expected to be 100 percent for the Browns. The Titans have played well the last two weeks without getting a significant contribution from Chris Johnson. I think Matt Hasselbeck has another good game as the Titans edge the Browns.

THE PICK: Titans 20-17

The Bengals play well at home but the Bills offense is on fire. Ryan Fitzpatrick and company are playing great and I think they keep it going. Andy Dalton is playing well and will keep the Bengals in it but the Bills have confidence and are going to be tough to beat.

THE PICK: Bills 24-20

The Rams are a banged up group and the Redskins have played well each week although they dropped the Monday nighter in Dallas. I think Rex Grossman keeps playing well but it’s going to be the Redskins defense that stifles the Rams this Sunday.

THE PICK: Redskins 17-13

Michael Vick was thought to be out for this one earlier in the week but his hand isn’t broken, just bruised. The 49ers have a defense that can get after the QB as they showed in busting up Tony Romo a couple weeks ago. Will Jim Harbaugh’s team be able to get any offense going? I think they lean on the running game to stay close but the playmakers belong to the Eagles and they should pull this out.

 THE PICK: Eagles 20-14

Both are 0-3 but got there different ways. The Vikings have been blowing leads in the second half whereas KC hasn’t been competitive until last week. I’m a Chiefs fan and this will be miserable to see Jared Allen in purple. That’s one of the big reasons I hate Carl Peterson. I think the Chiefs will play better but they struggle stopping the run so I expect Adrian Peterson to have a big game.

 THE PICK: Vikings 28-20

The Steelers can’t protect Big Ben and didn’t look good on Sunday night barely beating the hapless Colts. The Texans’ offense is clicking with the great passing game. I think the Texans get in another high scoring affair but win again.

 THE PICK: Texans 35-21

Cam Newton goes on the road to play a great defense. I think Brian Urlacher and crew will have some pressure for Cam and force a couple turnovers. The Bears offense will make plays but I look for this to be low scoring.

THE PICK: Bears 24-14

The Seahawks got a W last week and look to keep it rolling as the Falcons come to town. While it’s a long trip for Matt Ryan and the Falcons, he should have a good game and lead his team to a victory.

 THE PICK: Falcons 31-14

The Cardinals lost an ugly one last week in Seattle while the Gaints looked good beating the “Dream Team” Eagles. I think this is a game where one team falls back while another jumps up. The Cardinals are good at home and I think will get a late FG to steal this one from a good Giants team.

 THE PICK: Cardinals 27-24

The Pack should light up the Broncos. I think this one is a blowout as the Broncos don’t have a great come from behind team and the Packers should get an early lead and never look back.

 THE PICK: Packers 35-13

This is the best game of the weekend. You have the outstanding passing game of the Pats vs. the tough running game of the Raiders. I think Darren McFadden chews up the Pats defense and keeps the Patriots from getting in a rhythm. You’ve got to think Richard Seymour will be pumped for this game and the defense will respond to his leadership. I think the Raiders get a big win.

 THE PICK: Raiders 28-24

The Chargers are a team that seems to play to the level of their competition which often catches up to them. The long trip across the country could impact the 'Phins and I think Philip Rivers is licking his chops thinking he can get 400-plus yards this week. The 'Phins will stay in this one for a while but San Diego will pull away.

 THE PICK: Chargers 38-20

These two had a great game kicking off last season but are different squads now. The Jets come off a loss in Oakland last week while the Ravens dominated the Rams on the road. The Ravens have been tremendous at home and should keep it going in another defensive struggle.

THE PICK: Ravens 23-17

Colts at Buccaneers

Curtis Painter gets the start for the Colts…hopefully making Reggie Wayne happy. I think this one gets ugly as the young Bucs get the prime-time stage and send a message to the league. Josh Freeman show the country he’s a QB to watch.

THE PICK: Buccaneers 31-10
