NFL Picks Week 4: Which Teams Are Sure to Sink to 0-4?

Jon DoveOct 2, 2011

The Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings and St. Louis Rams will all remain winless.  Nobody wants to start the season 0-4, but the above teams have little chance to avoid another loss.  Each of these teams have had different struggles.  However, they have all found a way to not win any games.

Miami Dolphins

In the opening weekend, the Dolphins ran into Tom Brady and the Patriots.  Brady had a monster game, but overall the Dolphins played well.  The next week they faced a very tough Houston Texans team, where they again showed some positive signs.  Last week, they lost a close one to the Cleveland Browns that was very painful.

Today they travel to the west coast to take on the San Diego Chargers.  Philip Rivers is off to a slow start, but the Chargers are still managing to win games.  The defense is playing at a high level, doing a good job of bringing pressure.  Miami could have a difficult time protecting Chad Henne.

Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings may be the most frustrated team on this list.  They have held the led in each of their first three games.  However, they had major second-half collapses, the biggest coming last week vs. the Detroit Lions.

Donovan McNabb and the passing game has not looked very efficient.  They appear to lack big-time playmakers outside of Adrian Peterson and Percy Harvin.

Today, they travel to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the winless Kansas City Chiefs.  Kansas City has been equally terrible, but they have the home-field advantage.  Arrowhead is a tough place to play, giving the Chiefs the slight edge they need.

St. Louis Rams

St. Louis has had some tough luck, having to deal with a tough schedule combined with a run of injuries.  In week one, they looked poised to pull off the upset, but were unable to finish strong.  In that game, Steven Jackson and Danny Amendola suffered injuries.  Both players have missed the next few games, limiting the offensive production.

Today, the Rams face the Washington Redskins.  Washington has been one of the bigger surprises in the early season.  They have found a way to get good production out of Rex Grossman.

The Redskins will have to travel to St. Louis, but appear to be the better team.  This will be a close matchup with the Redskins getting the victory.
