UFC on Versus 6 Results: 3 Fights for Matt Wiman to Take Next
After feeling like he got the wrong end of a decision in his last fight against Dennis Siver at UFC 132, Matt Wiman did what he had to do and made sure the judges had no choice but to name him the winner against Mac Danzig.
Wiman took the decision with a 29-28 score across the board in a fantastic Fight of the Night winning performance, where he and Danzig went toe-to-toe everywhere the fight went and kept up and incredible pace throughout the fight.
Now that he is back to his winning ways, he has a lot of options for his next fight in a stacked lightweight division.
Edson Barboza
1 of 3This fight might look like the UFC is sending Wiman to certain defeat, but at this point Barboza is nothing more than a prospect.
Wiman pushes the pace like few others, and he has been known to throw people off of their game.
If Wiman can get the fight to the ground, which may be easier than we think since Barboza has never fought a wrestler, he could pick up a huge win.
Nate Diaz
2 of 3Another opponent that seems like a nightmare matchup for Wiman, Diaz is a handful on the feet and on the mat.
However, if Diaz has an Achilles heel it is his wrestling, which Wiman should be able to exploit with minimal difficulty.
This fight would push the winner into the top 10 of 155, though a title fight would still be a ways away.
Evan Dunham
3 of 3This is the perfect fight to make, as both Wiman and Dunham are coming off of rebound victories after some setbacks.
The winner of this one would be back near the top 10 of the division, and it would be a fantastic fight for the fans as they match up well in all areas.
