NFL Picks Week 4: Predicting How Colts and the NFL's 5 Winless Teams Will Fare

Mick AkersOct 1, 2011

Four weeks into the 2011 NFL season there are four winless teams that remain.

We know that at least one of those four will win, as the Minnesota Vikings and the Kansas City Chiefs face off in a battle of winless bottom dwelling teams.

Here is how the Indianapolis Colts and the rest of the winless teams will fare in Week 4.

Minnesota Vikings (0-3) at Kansas City Chiefs (0-3)

In the matchup pitting two teams looking for their first win, one would expect both teams to come out full throttle, as this could be their best opportunity to net a win for the time being.

The Minnesota Vikings look to be the team who has the edge here, as they have held double-digit leads going into the second half of two of their three losses, and should be able to hold on to a win here if they can get a big halftime lead.

With the Kansas City Chiefs being affected by the injury bug, most notably star running back Jamal Charles, they really will have to play a perfect game in order to beat the Vikings, who can win easily if they ride the coattails of running back Adrian Peterson.

Prediction: Minnesota Vikings 24, Kansas City Chiefs 14

Miami Dolphins (0-3) at San Diego Chargers (2-1)

The Miami Dolphins have no chance of going into San Diego and stealing a win from the San Diego Chargers.

The Dolphins barely missed their first win last week against the Cleveland Browns, but if they played as they did last week the game will be over before the first half begins.

Phillip Rivers should have a field day against the Dolphins defense, which ranks 30th against the pass.

Prediction: San Diego Chargers 42, Miami Dolphins 13

Washington Redskins (2-1) at St. Louis Rams (0-3)

The St. Louis Rams have to be the most disappointing team so far this year. Injuries have played a part in their struggles.

The Rams winless streak will continue this week against the Washington Redskins, as the Skins defense is top notch, and Tim Hightower should have the best game of this season, as the Rams rank dead last in rushing defense.

Prediction: Washington Redskins 27, St. Louis Rams 7

Indianapolis Colts (0-3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers(2-1)

The Indianapolis Colts are lost without their star quarterback Peyton Manning, and I think they'll be lucky to win one game this season.

That being said, the Colts should not pose any real threat against the Bucs, and Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman should be in for a big game against the Colts.

Starting Curtis Painter will not help the Colts cause, as he is inexperienced and could be easily rattled, forcing him into a bad game, and making turnover situations for the Colts a high possibility.

Prediction: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24, Indianapolis Colts 10
