WWE Hell in a Cell 2011 Preview: What to Look for in Each Match

Nathan GieseOct 2, 2011

Hell in a Cell is tonight, only two weeks removed from a very controversial Night of Champions.

Now, with an extreme lack of build up to matches to fill up a card, we are stuck with forced rematches and very few surprises to what's on the card at this point in time.

With only five announced matches and three championships set to take place at this point in time, some of what we are going to see can be pretty expected.  There is also the possibility of other matches being added to the card the night of the show, but right now we'll work with what we have.

Here's my list of things to expect out of each match based upon recent history.

Sheamus vs. Christian

1 of 5

This match, in my mind, is the one that will kick off the show to give a wow factor to open.

Sheamus has been looking to demolish Christian for weeks and Christan has once again tried to play sneaky, yet scared to avoid the potential beat down.

Sheamus has been on a huge roll since turning face, with his only real bump in the road being on the losing end of Mark Henry's massive push as a strong, dominant heel.

What to expect from this match: Sheamus gets the clean win, looks to be next No.1 contender for the World Championship.

Christian has had chance after chance to be taken seriously as a main event threat for the strap, but his time has vanished and it is now time for a new face to be in the title scene and that man is Sheamus.

Divas Championship: (c) Kelly Kelly vs. Beth Phoenix

2 of 5

This will be Beth Phoenix's third time in a row trying to take the title away from Barbie, or Kelly Kelly if you will.

Kelly has escaped both Night of Champion and SummerSlam with all of her limbs intact, and considering the level of frustration Beth has towards her, that's a miracle.  Winning both matches on top of it is just gravy in her mind.

What to Expect: A very angry Beth, and Natalya interference taking out Eve.

While the match is between Beth and Kelly, the real battle will be on the outside of the ring pitting the valets against each other.  Eve has gotten away from Natalya a number of times, even gaining the upper-hand on her a few times, but this time around Naty will do everything she possibly can to ensure Beth walks away with the championship.

We may not be seeing Eve around for a while.

Sin Cara vs. Sin Cara

3 of 5

Here's a match that could steal the show.  Except, it could also be the biggest disappointment in recent history.

Both men have similar movesets, which can be boiled down to nothing but high-flying and jumping around with maybe a few side kicks if they feel like it.

What to Except: Botches, botches, and insane moves

Both of these guys are fairly raw in the ring and have had some trouble working with other talent, but now they have the opportunity to show off exactly what got them to the company in the first place. Sure there's going to be a few botches, but to be fair there are bound to be plenty of botches tonight either way.

There could be some crazy, sick moves tonight so let's enjoy  it.

World Heavyweight Championship Cell: (c) Mark Henry vs. Randy Orton

4 of 5

Here he have a case of two very angry men going head to head for the biggest prize SmackDown has to offer while settling their issues inside of the giant steel structure that can inflict pain on even the most indestructible men.

Mark Henry could easily enter Hell in a Cell's Hall of Pain rather than Orton enter Henry's for the umpteenth time. Hell in a Cell can make and break a person's career in an instant.  Orton knows this as he has faced possibly the greatest cell match competitor of all time the Undertaker.  Henry's monstrous streak has seen many bodies lying in pain at his massive hands.

What to Expect: Pure physicality and brute force.  Sparks to fly and potential blood to be shed.

There is far too much anger between both of these men to not have the makings for one of the most brutal contests either men has had in their careers.  Henry looks to once again take care of the Viper while the Viper looks to knock out the World's Strongest Man.  With how much interaction both men have had with each other lately and the end results of all those encounters, don't expect a whole lot of wrestling maneuvers.  This one is going to be ugly but also awesome.

WWE Championship in Cell: (c) John Cena vs. CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio

5 of 5

For the first time, the WWE Championship will be defended inside Hell in a Cell in a triple threat match. Cena looks to maintain his status as top dog of the company while Punk looks to avenge his loss of the title to Del Rio's Money in the Bank cash-in at SummerSlam.

Each man has very good reason to feel they deserve the WWE Championship and each looks to take what's rightfully theirs.  All three have the wrestling ability and appeal to be champion but only one can walk out as champ.

What to Expect: Punk and Cena to team up to take out Del Rio, then focus on each other with Del Rio coming on strong at the end.  No SuperCena tonight.

While many people expect Cena to retain using his usual formula for success, this one feels like he's going to have to use a different pattern to win this time around. Punk and Del Rio will be doing everything in their power to make sure this man does not walk out with the title and that includes not allowing for the same old, same old happening.

SuperCena is going to find his kryptonite tonight because both of them are going to make sure he will not prevail.
