NFL Picks Week 4: Minnesota Vikings and 3 Teams Facing a Must-Win Game

Nicholas GossOct 1, 2011

The Minnesota Vikings are 0-3 this season and are one of the NFL teams facing a must-win game in Week 4.

Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier has decided to stick with veteran quarterback Donovan McNabb to start Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs, opting not to give rookie Christian Ponder his first opportunity to make a name for himself.

The Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos are two other teams badly in need of a win, but will they be victorious this week?

Let's break down the matchups.

Minnesota Vikings at Kansas City Chiefs

The Vikings are 0-3 and they must win on Sunday against the Chiefs if they want any chance at making the playoffs.

The Vikings play in the NFC North division, which includes two 3-0 teams, the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions. It looks like a wild card spot is the only hope for the Vikings and another loss would ruin their chances of making the postseason.

McNabb has to find a way to close out games in the fourth quarter, and he will on Sunday against winless Kansas City, who may be the worst team in the NFL.

Pick: Vikings win 27-14

Atlanta Falcons at Seattle Seahawks

The Atlanta Falcons are 1-2 and travel to Seattle on Sunday to take on the Seahawks. The Falcons need a win to remain a threat in the NFC South division.

The New Orleans Saints are 2-1, and the Falcons can't afford to fall behind two games in the standings this early in the season.

The Seahawks pass defense is not good, so this is the perfect opportunity for Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan to get the passing attack in top form.

Pick: Falcons win 31-17

Denver Broncos at Green Bay Packers

The Denver Broncos are 1-2 and are traveling on the road to play the defending champions, the Green Bay Packers.

The Broncos need a win to remain in contention in the AFC West division race and a loss would put them in trouble, since the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers appear to be the division's best teams.

Kyle Orton will start at quarterback again, not Tim Tebow, and it will be interesting to see if coach John Fox makes a change when the Broncos lose to the Packers on Sunday.

Pick: Green Bay 45-17
