Week 4 Fantasy Football Projections: 4 QBs Sure to Cost You a Win

Brian MaziqueOct 1, 2011

Some of the QBs on this list have struggled and some have excelled all year. In Week 4, the matchups or the downward spirals will make this list of QBs a bad starting option for your fantasy team.

If you have other options at the QB and you own one of these guys, this is the week to test your depth. You will not see Ryan Fitzpatrick on this list. Anyone who still doesn't believe in him as a fantasy football star isn't paying much attention.

Check out the list.

Cam Newton

1 of 4

Cam Newton should be the runaway Rookie of the Year but the offense can't run the ball and he has shown the expected tendency to throw picks. All of those factors play right into the Chicago Bears hands.

A defense predicated on forcing turnovers and forcing the QB to continue to throw the ball for short to intermediate gains is a tough task for a young QB.

Newton is not a good start this week.

Mike Vick

2 of 4

We all know how dynamic Vick can be, but right now there are too many physical issues with him to start if you have another viable option. He could take another shot and only give you a half of football or he could be used as a game-long decoy with a game-plan to use him as a game manager.

The San Francisco 49ers defense is aggressive and physical to boot. Right now, the NFL's most exciting player isn't a good start until he's closer to 100 percent.

Philip Rivers

3 of 4

Rivers and the Chargers have struggled so far this season. All of their wins are against winless teams. Lucky for them, this week's competition is winless as well. So, while the Chargers should win at home, Rivers six Interceptions to only four touchdowns cannot be ignored.

If you have another guy, consider him.

Mark Sanchez

4 of 4

The Jets offense has been inconsistent this year. The running game hasn't been effective enough to create the play-action opportunities this offense is designed to benefit from. So, even though they sit a 2-1, the mark has been reached via unbalanced efforts on the offensive end.

Sunday Night, the Jets travel to B-More to take on the Ravens. The Ravens defense is coming off a near shutout performance over the Rams. This is not a good situation for Sanchez from a fantasy standpoint. Review your options.
