College Football Picks Week 5: Which SEC Teams Will Lose This Week?
The SEC is the best conference in all of college football. That is without question.
However, that doesn't mean every team always goes undefeated. Accordingly, I've highlighted the three teams that are most likely to lose this weekend. By no means are these guarantees (or that these will be the only teams to lose), but these are the teams that are in the biggest trouble this weekend.
Arkansas vs. Texas A&M
Arkansas got smoked by Alabama last week, and I don't know if they can quite come back from that. The Aggies are coming off a tough loss to Oklahoma State last week, and they want to make a good impression on their soon-to-be conference.
By traveling to Arkansas and defeating the Razorbacks, Texas A&M will earn themselves one of the biggest emotional victories of the season.
Prediction: Arkansas 20, Texas A&M 28
Florida vs. Alabama
Obviously, an SEC team will lose this one. But which one? Alabama has been the team to beat for a few years now, but Florida was the team to beat before that. Alabama boasts one of the best defenses in the country, and if they are able to score a few touchdowns, they feel like they can win any game.
However, the game is in The Swamp. Florida plays tough at home, and they won't want to lose this early in the season. They have a pretty good defense too, and they will be sure to hold Alabama back. But, at the end of the day, Roll Tide will be too much.
Prediction: Florida 13, Alabama 30
Mississippi State at Georgia
Again, an SEC team will lose this one. Mississippi State has had a tough start to SEC play, and they are 0-2. They do not want to drop to 0-3. That inspired play may bring them a road victory.
However, Georgia does not want to lose their second SEC game. They still have a chance to win the SEC East, but they will need to run the table. I don't necessarily see that happen, but I think they notch a victory this year.
Prediction: Mississippi State 17, Georgia 24
