NFL Picks Week 4: Which Teams Will Exit Week 4 with a Victory?
Who would have thought that 2011 would be so entertaining, exciting and just flat-out awesome as it's playing out to be so far.
I mean, for starters, who would have guessed that the Buffalo Bills and the Detroit Lions would be two of the three undefeated teams remaining after three weeks? If you're saying that you predicted that, well, I'm just going to accuse you of lying—sorry.
With the Packers, Bills and Lions all remaining undefeated, will their success continue in Week 4? Will the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs and the St. Louis Rams all remain winless?
Allow me to kick off the start of your weekend with my picks for Week 4 of the NFL regular season.
Detroit Lions at Dallas Cowboys
1 of 16Prediction: Detroit 28 Dallas 24
This will be one of the most entertaining games of the weekend, as the Detroit Lions will face yet another challenge as they'll pay a visit to Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys.
If the Lions can put pressure on Romo and force him to mistakes, while on the other side of the ball, if Matthew Stafford can capitalize on those mistakes, then the Lions should escape Dallas with a victory.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Houston Texans
2 of 16Prediction: Houston 24 Pittsburgh 17
The Houston Texans failed to beat a potential playoff team last week against the Saints in New Orleans, but with this game being in Houston, I can see the Texans coming out of top.
The Steelers simply haven't played great football so far this season and have struggled at times. Pittsburgh struggled tremendously Week 1 against the Ravens and looked pretty sluggish last Sunday night against the Colts.
Carolina Panthers at Chicago Bears
3 of 16Prediction: Carolina 20 Chicago 14
Upset alert! You heard it here first!
Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers will walk into the Windy City and steal a victory away from the Chicago Bears.
So far this season, Jay Cutler simply hasn't been great. He's thrown three interceptions while being sacked a grand total of 14 times. If the Panthers can attack Chicago's well-below-average offensive line, they will create turnovers.
Minnesota Vikings at Kansas City Chiefs
4 of 16Prediction: Minnesota 21 Kansas City 10
Hey, at least one winless team will get a victory this week, as the Vikings should beat up on the Chiefs this Sunday.
Minnesota isn't a great football team, but they have quality talent on both sides of the ball that's a tad bit better than Kansas City.
Adrian Peterson should run wild during this one as the Chiefs are ranked 28th in defending the run.
Buffalo Bills at Cincinnati Bengals
5 of 16Prediction: Buffalo 35 Cincinnati 14
No chance, no chance, zero chance at all for the Cincinnati Bengals in this one.
Let's put it this way: the Buffalo Bills are 3-0 for a reason and they should take care of the Bengals.
Tennessee Titans at Cleveland Browns
6 of 16Prediction: Cleveland 20 Tennessee 17
This will be a close one.
The Tennessee Titans have been playing surprisingly well so far this season, despite the major struggles from Chris Johnson.
CJ2K will be facing the league's 29th-worst run defense, but I still don't see him having a good day at all against the Browns. Johnson has shown zero positive signs this season.
Washington Redskins at St. Louis Rams
7 of 16Prediction: Washington 24 St. Louis 14
This should be a nice rebound game for the Washington Redskins after falling just short last Monday against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Rams have been a very disappointing team so far this season with an 0-3 record, and I have yet to see any sign of life from this group of guys.
Washington should win easily.
San Francisco 49ers at Philadelphia Eagles
8 of 16Prediction: Philadelphia 28 San Francisco 7
This has blowout written all over it if Michael Vick starts this game, and all signs appear that he will be.
Philadelphia is by far the superior team in this matchup, as the 49ers have a solid defense, but their offense has been struggling all year with Frank Gore being unable to run for more than 60 yards in a game this season.
New Orleans Saints at Jacksonville Jaguars
9 of 16Prediction: New Orleans 42 Jacksonville 10
There is no reason this game should be played, as the Saints are a far more superior team than the Jaguars, and it's almost going to be a joke.
If the Jaguars finish within 14 points this week, then I will be shocked.
Atlanta Falcons at Seattle Seahawks
10 of 16Prediction: Atlanta 31 Seattle 14
This should be another blowout, as the Atlanta Falcons are a much better team than the Seattle Seahawks.
The obvious difference between the team teams is that the Falcons have a legitimate quarterback in Matt Ryan, rather than a career backup in Tarvaris Jackson.
New York Giants at Arizona Cardinals
11 of 16Prediction: New York 31 Arizona 17
Eli Manning's solid play from last week, as he threw four touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles, will continue this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.
Arizona has allowed the eighth-most passing yards in the league so far this season, which means Manning should have a very good game.
New England Patriots at Oakland Raiders
12 of 16Prediction: New England 38 Oakland 31
This is going to be a close one, as the New England Patriots will likely have issues stopping Darren McFadden and the Oakland Raiders will have huge issues in stopping Tom Brady.
There will be a lot of points scored in this one, but I see Brady and the Patriots leaving the Black Hole with a victory.
Denver Broncos at Green Bay Packers
13 of 16Prediction: Green Bay 45 Denver 10
I almost feel bad for the Denver Broncos this week, as they're going to be so over-matched that it's almost going to be laughable.
Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are simply going to lay a beat-down on the Broncos this Sunday at Lambeau Field.
Miami Dolphins at San Diego Chargers
14 of 16Prediction: San Diego 28 Miami 21
I think we all know that Tony Sparano is playing for his job in Miami, and he'll do whatever it takes for his Miami Dolphins to finish on top over the San Diego Chargers.
Granted, Miami should play a solid game against the Chargers, but San Diego is by far too talented for the Dolphins to beat.
New York Jets at Baltimore Ravens
15 of 16Prediction: Baltimore 23 New York 17
Rex Ryan returning to Baltimore this Sunday night will be a night that he will want to forget immediately.
The Ravens defense is just so talented and so physical that I believe that they'll simply beat up Mark Sanchez and the Jets and force a whole lot of turnovers.
Sunday night's matchup is going to be a classic, hard-nosed football game.
Indianapolis Colts at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
16 of 16Prediction: Tampa Bay 20 Indianapolis 13
This could be a defensive battle between two teams that are fundamentally sound on that side of the ball, with the Buccaneers coming out on top simply because of the stellar play of quarterback Josh Freeman.
I'm sorry, but I have a whole lot more confidence in Freeman than I do Curtis Painter—don't you agree?
