Bruce Arena's Los Angeles Galaxy were on the doorstep of a successful Major League Soccer Supporters' Shield defense when they took on Jason Kreis's Real Salt Lake at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. on Saturday, Oct. 1.
The Galaxy are coming off a big 2-1 win over Monarcas Morelia in CONCACAF Champions League play, and are currently 18-3-10 (64 points) after their 2-1 victory over RSL.
Los Angeles came back from a one-goal deficit at halftime thanks to an equalizer from Chad Barrett in the 59th minute and an own goal from Nat Borchers in the 72nd minute. Fabian Espindola opened up the scoring in the 45th minute of play.
