NFL Picks Week 4: Which Teams Will Win Marquee Matchups?

Kyle VassaloOct 1, 2011

The Monday night matchup between the Colts and Bucs doesn't exactly have the same pizazz the scheduler probably thought it would, but Week 4 has no shortage of great games.

There are three matchups this week between some of the best teams in the league. A lack of divisional games won't stop this week from producing some must-see Sunday action.

Here are the three teams who will emerge victorious in this week's marquee matchups.

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens and New York Jets' head coach Rex Ryan are all too familiar with one another. Bart Scott and the Jets know exactly what's coming their way when they head into Baltimore. Both teams strive to dominate on the ground, limit mistakes and have a shut-down run defense.

Unfortunately for the Jets, they were exposed last week. While they could rebound this week, as Baltimore did after their embarrassing loss to the Titans, a more-likely scenario is Ray Rice victimizing the Jets' run defense just as Darren McFadden did a week ago.

The Pittsburgh Steelers went from veteran to old overnight. They aren't the same team they were a season ago, and with their glaring offensive line issues, it's hard to imagine them pulling off a victory against Wade Phillips' relentless defense.

Regardless of Arian Foster's status, the Texans are going to have no problem moving the ball. The question becomes whether or not Pittsburgh will be able to answer, and from the looks of their line and Rashard Mendenhall's rocky start, it looks like the Steelers will drop to 2-2.

People are hopping on the Detroit Lions bandwagon in droves, as they well should. Detroit is a solid up-and-coming team and looks like a completely different team with Matt Stafford under center. Even so, they aren't an elite team.

The Cowboys aren't, either, but they are the toughest test the Lions have faced this season. Even banged up, the Cowboys will answer the call just as they did last week... As long as Tony Romo can live to tell the tale of the time he squared off against Ndamukong Suh.
